Request concerning Practice Tax. In New Zealand we have the option to make companies and trust non active with Inland Revenue. Once an entity is non active it is no longer required to file an Income Tax return for the year it takes effect and future years. The only way a tax return is required again is if we apply to revoke the non active status. Could we please have a setting in MYOB Tax to indicate a company or trust is non-active? When this indicator is on, it could make it so future years are automatically marked as not required. The current process is to mark the current year and next year as not required, but then 2 years later it is back on the list of required returns in AO/MYOB Tax, and we have to look up the client, find out it is non active and then mark it as non active again. This is a question we get asked occasionally - and even more so at the momemt due to Covid-19, and the latest annoucnements from many of the state governements. Accountants Office, and Accountants Enterprise are desktop Client/Server applications. There are components that reside on your server - such as the SQL server, various Service applications, such as Lodgement and Backup services - and then there are workstation componets that are installed on your workstation to interact with the server components. because of the nature of the application, the workstation softrware must be on the same network as the server components.
