StevenR FYI, The update button never left my myob and still said 2016.2 is available. But I decided to try it again this morning and it updated to 2.1.
I now have File Version: 2016.2.18.6018.
Just letting you know, in case others are seeing the same as me, that the update button does not say 2016.2.1. It still says 2016.2.
