While we are all frustrated at this issue, and many angry members of the MYOB community are commenting about the lack of a back up plan by MYOB, It has struck a cord that many of us clearly also do not have a back up "Business continuity plan" of our own.
Switching to another provider doesn't ensure that the same thing can't happen there too. We all need to have a contingency plan of our own. "Luckily" due to the internet reception at our business, I do have some back up plan procedures so I was able to pay wages & suppliers, then re-enter the details today.
Thankfully not all my eggs are in one basket.
- MYOB do need to reinstate the "work offline" option
- we all need to keep a local copy of employees pay rates & bank details
- We need our own back up quote / invoice & purchase order method.
