I'm sorry to hear that you are encountering that situation. You may wish to take a look at Help Article: Speed and performance tips, which does contain some tips and tricks that have worked for some clients. Note it doesn't work for all clients and setups.
Also, you mentioned moving the company file locally for use across your own servers. AccountRight 2017.2 will allow for this - Help Article: Set up a network will be able to assist with the process. If you do have an online that you wish to move locally take a backup of the online file (File>>Backup) and restore locally (File>>Restore).
