That message typically means that there is:
- A transaction associated with that account - run the Account Transactions [Accrual] report for that account for an extended date range. Transactions for that account would need to be deleted.
- The account has been set up as a linked account - i.e. the account is linked as an option under Setup>>Linked Accounts. Another account would be required to be set up for that linked account option
- The Account has a balance, this should be removed by deleting those transactions. However, if the account has an opening balance then it would need to be removed as well.
Once those points have been addressed you will be able to delete that account.
