Memo in description "General Ledger Detail"

Hi, When I generate the "General Ledger Detail" report, I'd like to see the memo description circled in BLUE.

It seems like the report by default generates the memo description circled in RED.

Please assist.

Thank you.

  • Hi FTA123,

Thanks for sharing the screenshot. I see you want the memo description to show on the general journal detail reports too. While adding a memo to a payment is optional, if you want it on the General Ledger Detail report, try this: Go to Insert/Modify > Show Hide > select Allocation Memo and Description > click Show. Then, rerun the report to see if the blue-circled memo on your screenshot shows up.

Feel free to post again anytime you require further assistance.

    Kind regards,

    Shella

    • I have an issue where the report is combining the memo if the account and job code are the same. Is it possible to have it split in the report for each line of the transaction?

In the example above, if there were 2 lines with the same code but different Memo descriptions to appear as 2 lines on the report?

      Thanks

        Hi MichaelC85,

Our software may consolidate entries with the same account and job code in certain reports, which is why you're seeing them combined.

One option to explore is to adjust the reporting settings or try different report types that may offer more detailed line-by-line information. If the report customisation options don't achieve the split you're looking for, another possibility could be exporting the report to Excel, where you can manually split the lines as needed.

        Regards,

        Sai
