Unable to edit recurring transaction

Hi there,  Re:  Lists, Recurring Transaction, Edit:  I'm wondering if I have come across another glitch in the recently updated Accountright.  I went into edit a name in one of my recurring schedules but I first got a message that I couldn't edit within a locked period and then when I unlocked the period another message came up telling me I couldn't edit transactions before beginning of financial year.  What is happening???  I've never had this problem with editing recurring transaction info before.  I suspect this is another glitch that's come about with the upgrade.  I've got to say that this new version is becoming a bit of a pain.

  • Hi Lynzo_H

Thank you for your post. The error message 'couldn't edit transactions before beginning of financial year' may be the same message as "You may not enter transactions before the beginning of your financial year" if this is the exact error message this can occur if the Next due date in the recurring transaction is in the previous financial year.

To be able to delete or edit the recurring transaction you'll need to change the Next due date:

    1. Click the recurring transaction and click Edit schedule
    2. Change the next due date to a date in the current financial year
    3. Click OK

Additionally article Deleting a recurring transaction has an example of this scenario.

If this is not the error you are receiving please provide a screenshot of the exact error you are receiving.

Thank you Melissa, I had forgotten that step.  Changing the date did the trick.  Regards, Lyn
