Setting up an On Call Allowance that doesn't attract SGC Super

How do I do this?

We pay an allowance of $21 for people who are on call, it is not related to the number of hours they work.

My understanding is that this is an "Allowance Other" and it does not attract the 12% SGC.

    Hi davidryan

In this matter, you may go to Superannuation tab>>Click superannuation guarantee that you are using>>Exempt>>tick the allowance you want to exempt.

Do let me know if you have any further trouble with that.

As we are not permitted to provide any advise which ATO Reporting Category to choose and if the pay items will be exempted from SGC, we do recommend to speak with your accountant or financial advisor.

Thanks for entering the conversation. To clarify my question is not whether it attacts the SGC. I know it doesn't, my question is how do I set up the allowance within MYOB so that it doesn't contribute to the superannuation of an employee.

        Hi davidryan

Thanks for the update on this.

To set up allowance within MYOB go to Payroll >> Payroll Categories >> Wages and salary >> Click New >> Fill out the necessary details >> at the Top there is an exempt you would need to tick.

Please let me know if you need further help.
