TFN Declaration Form

Hello

Do we still need to have an employee fill in a hard copy TFN Declaration form to keep on file?

Thanks :)

  • Hi Adamini

Thanks for your post and welcome here to the Community Forum.

If you are reporting under STP Phase 2, when a new employee is onboarded via self onboarding, there's no longer any need to fill a paper TFN declaration form, all their details will be sent to the ATO automatically.

More information on this is available in our Help Article: Getting ready for STP Phase 2 or refer to this post Employee TFN Declaration to ATO. - MYOB Community

We need to have a copy of the TFN Dec online to meet the ATO requirements, how do I print this from MYOB?

        Hi Adamini

Thanks for getting back to us.

Regarding your inquiry, MYOB does not have a direct feature to print the TFN declaration form within the software. The TFN declaration form is typically a standard government form provided by the ATO.

Here are the general steps you can follow to handle TFN declarations in MYOB:

        1. Download the Form: Obtain a blank copy of the TFN declaration form from the ATO website or contact the ATO directly.
        2. Search for TFN Declaration: Use the search function on the ATO website and enter keywords such as "TFN declaration." This should lead you to the relevant page.
        3. Provide the Form to Employees: Give a copy of the TFN declaration form to your employees. This can be done electronically or in print, depending on your preferred method of communication.
        4. Employee Completion: Instruct your employees to complete the relevant sections of the TFN declaration form.
        5. Submit to the ATO: Once the employees have completed their sections, you, as the employer, may need to complete the employer sections. Submit the completed TFN declaration forms to the ATO. This is usually done online.
        6. Record Keeping in MYOB: While MYOB may not generate the TFN declaration form, you can create records in MYOB to track and document the receipt of TFN declarations from employees. This is for your internal record-keeping.
