Build Items showing Unit Cost not Amount

Hi

When building items we sometimes have a long list of items that are positive and negative. Because the out of balance is calculated using the unit cost it does not show a negative balance when a negative item is entered.

Therefore when we are out of balance at the bottom it is hard to find the problem easily as it does not show if the issue is a negative or positive value.

Is there an option to show the Amount instead of the unit at the bottom of the Item Build Screen?

Thank you

  • Hi ZoeO1

In the Build Items window, the 'Out of balance' field at the bottom shows the difference amount between the total debits and total credits entered, it will always be a positive figure if there's any difference between the debits and credits. The calculation is based on the 'Amount' column figures, not the unit cost column.

A better way to view the figures on both side of the transaction would be recapping the transaction by using Ctrl + R, which lists the debits and credits in separate columns, from that you can total them together to work it out further.

I hope this helps. If you have any further questions please feel free to let us know.
