Non Inventoried Items - Second Question - Urgently

We would like to NOT inventory special orders that are specially ordered for a customer.  Questions from our Sales team is - They need to look up purchase history from an Invoice the customer may of brought back in for a warranty issue and need the history quickly without going into another report on MYOB - obviously we are talking about a retail supply building that have quite a few customers coming in and really do not have time to wander around MYOB looking for details.

 

If there is no solution is their an upgrade for MYOB ie business that would provide this option.

    What MYOB product are you using - you have posted on the AccountRight board, so I am assuming you use AccountRight. 

     

    Others might have a better suggestion, however there are 2 common ways:

    • Use Find Transactions > Card tab, set date range (use customer's receipt or invoice produced for warranty), If date not available, set wide date range, this will show all transactions for that Customer, open each one until you find - ok if only a few transactions for this customer in the set date range
    • Use Reports > Index to Reports > Item > Sales Summary, use filters to set date range and Item. Use this if customer name not available.

      Hi Gavin, yes we are using accountright and not the best for retail shop selling thousands of items some in inventory and some not.  As stated below the staff do not have time to wander through reports when customer is standing in front of them, they are not bookkeepers and really is not part of their role to do more then enter part and sell them and look up history.

       

      I think Im on a loosing battle with this as MYOB really not setup for what we require.

        Understood. MYOB might not be the best fit - though I doubt there is software that allows you to do what you want without any effort.

         

        Most retailers require customers to produce documentation for warranty purposes. I use Find Transactions as the fastest way to find things. All depends on how much info you have. You can go straight to the invoice if you have the invoice number using the Invoice tab. If you have customer name you can use the Card tab. 

         

        If you don't have any info, this will be a challenge to find with any system.
