Unbalance Trial Balance report

I an new to Accountright so please bear with me.  The Trial Balance report does not balance. It is out of balance by the amount of the Historical Balance which is included as a debit. What do I need to do on MYOB to correct this? situation.

    You should not have anything in the historical balance account. Start with investigating what is in there and why. It's usually from people entering opening balances from the setup, balances, account opening balances.

      Thanks for your post, and welcome to the Community Forum. I hope you find plenty of helpful information.

       

      Apologies for the late response. We appreciate your patience with this. If the total debits do not equal the total credits, it is confirmed to be an out-of-balance in the trial balance. We recommend refreshing the historical balance. You may follow the steps below:

       

      1. Have the customer take a backup of their company file.
      2. Have the customer go to Setup >> Balances >> Account Opening Balances.
      3. Select an account with a $0 opening balance (make sure they remember the account; write it down).
      4. Enter a $1 opening balance for this account and click Ok.
      5. Go back to Setup >> Balances >> Account Opening Balances and remove the $1 opening balance, returning it to $0 again.
      6. Click Ok
      7. Run the balance sheet again and check that it balances.

  • Good afternoon, I use Account Right plus and have a discrepancy on my Trial balance/Balance sheet.
    I followed the directions above, but my accounts are still out of balance..

      Yes mine too. I can see how it occurred and why can't fix it. (I am replying in the hope it reignites support)
