EOFY STP REPORTS MYGOV SAYS NOT TAX READY FOR TERMINATED EMPLOYEES

Hi,

2 terminated employees have said that in mygov it says that for this employer it is not tax ready. Our accountant contacted the ATO who said that STP has been finalised for that employer - is this a MYOB issue and how can it be resolved please?

I have a screenshot of it from 1 person.

  • Hi Sue_new_2_forum,

Thanks for your post and welcome here to the Community Forum. I hope you will find it to be a great resource and place of information.

Regarding your employees' concerns about their Income statements not being tax ready, we have a solution that may work for you. To start, check the Payroll reporting centre to ensure that the Final Indicator is ticked in the EOFY finalizations tab. Additionally, make sure that the finalization report shows a status of Accepted.

If the status is Accepted with errors or Rejected, fix the errors and finalize the report. If the status is already Accepted, it's best to reach out to the ATO to see what may be holding up the finalization process.

One of the common reasons we saw for reports being Accepted with errors this year was employees terminated before moving to STP Phase 2. This was due to the ATO requiring a termination reason in Phase 2 which wasn't required in Phase 1.

      Thanks Leneth,

You are correct my reports had been accepted with errors, employees terminated needed a reason, so I undid them all and redid them.
