Hi
I found that while emailing invoices directly from MYOB ARL there is a limited number of charecters i can use for the message. it would be great if that is extended so I can get a proper email message typed with my quotes and invoices sent.
thanks
Ido

It would be great if this message box would accept more than 250 characters. It is very frustrating when you cannot write exactly what you want to say to your customer. There needs to be no limit!

I vote for this.
I believe this is actually part of a larger issue - that MYOBs Email sending capabilities simply don't include many features that Outlook offers. This is why i made a suggestion to add a setting to get MYOB to compose the Email in Outlook, but NOT send it (at the moment it composes the email in Outlook and sends it automatically with no way to stop it or change it) - this will allow the user to modify the contents, add attachments, etc.
Here's a link to my suggestion made a while back, although unfortunately it didn't gain any traction: http://community.myob.com/t5/AccountRight-Idea-Exchange/Compose-email-in-outlook-BUT-DON-T-SEND-YET/idi-p/361131

Absolutely! I find the limited text box characters when e-mail very frustrating. I would like to add a personalised signature logo to my emails as well (like in outlook). And the opportunity to add in other attachments as required.

255 characters for the email message box is often not enough. This problem has been listed as 'solved' however it is not solved - the problem still exists and it shouldn't be that hard to change. It is frustrating to be mid sentence and not be able to finish the email. Even the MYOB tech guys had no solution except to appeal to the software designers on this forum. Pleeeease!!!

I Agree!! It is very annoying! We put the freight info in the emails when we sent our invoices. So by the time we say which transport carrier and what the tracking number is, we bearly have enough space to say "thanks for your purchase!"
Please fix this!

Morning,
Is there a chance of increasing the allowed space in "Message" field for when emailing invoices to clients?
My apologies if this has been asked and solved previously.
Thanks

When sending an invoice in the 'Enter Sales' tab there is a maximum of roughly 50 - 60 words allowed in the message area of an email. It would be incredibly usefull and less frustrating if the email length was unrestricted. Another nice touch would be to have the option of changing the font, size, colour and basic text setttings.

No programming language will give you the ablilty for unrestricted but most will allow a large amount of text.
- Matthew_W12 years agoMYOB StaffStatus changed:NewtoNewHi Ido, thank you for your feedback. Could I please confirm exactly where you would like the character limit increased? From 2011 onwards we have increased the character limit for email messages to be up to 4000 characters to allow these sort of details to be added in smoothly. This Idea posted has the details of what has been done already: http://community.myob.com/t5/AccountRight-Idea-Exchange/Default-Email-Message-Character-Size-Limit-Emailing-Statements/idi-p/136042 If you are looking at a different section please do just let us know the details and we will look into this further for you.

Hi Matthew
when I'm in a sales window I click on "SEND TO" and select Email
a window is opened where I can edit all fields in the email to be sent.
I found that in the message text box I have a limited character count so need to choose my words. This prevents me from detailing any info in regards to a quote or invoice
just counted 255 characters.
how do I get to the 4000 characters email?
- Will_H12 years agoMYOB ModeratorStatus changed:NewtoNewHi Ido, Thank you for the clarification. That screen is currently using the older limit of 255 characters. To send emails with a full 4000 character limit for the email right now, please use the Print/Email Invoices screen at: Sales command centre > Print/Email Invoices. We'll look at changing this in a future release. If anyone else is affected by this, can you let us know by voting on this thread or give your feedback by commenting here?

Yes please increase the character limit from the "Send to" option from the active invoice.
This drives me absolutely crazy! Why is there such a small limit? - Mic_Gorman10 years agoCover User
The limit on the size of the email sent from MYOB AccountRight is driving me crazy. When are you going to fix this. MYOB is so unintuitive and has too many restrictions. Fix it please.

Hi Mic_Gorman
Thank you for your feedback in regards to this idea
As mentioned previously the character limit has been expanded for the Print/Email Invoices>>To be Emailed tab if you do require a longer character limit for emails.
