Restoring Company File - Error Message when uploading Company File

Hi 

 

I am using the new Cloud based - AccountRight Plus AU 2018.3

 

At some point in the last year, my Company File Name was changed to include a year "2018" and I have been trying to change it to something more generic, so that other users don't get concerned they are using an old file.

 

I have followed all the steps on:

At step 5 (5. After that backup has been completed, go restore that file online using AccountRight Live (File>>Restore>>Online with AccountRight Live).), I continually get an error message when I am trying to restore the file with the new generic name. 

 

I am definately selecting the button restore: "online with AccountRight Live". It goes into the showing the progress bar showing it is restoring. And after a minute or two an error message pops up saying: Unable to restore. An error occured while restoring this company file. No changes were made to your online.

    Thanks for confirming this, this is what I mentioned before with the Recently opened list.

     

    As a small note it won't change the Shortcut link on the Recently Opened list, you can right click the shortcut and choose "Remove from list" and the next time you open the file it'll re-create the shortcut.

     

     

    What I suggest doing this:

    1. Right Click the name listed here
    2. Choose Remove from List
    3. Once removed go to: Open > Online
    4. Sign in here and open the datafile (This should show the correct name)

     

    Once re-opened, try closing and re-opening to see if this now shows up correctly in the list.

    If you only attempting to change the name of the file that is online, you could also go into the Online File and go to:

    1. Setup > Company Information
    2. Change the Name here and click OK
    3. Go to: Help > Confirm your Company File
    4. Choose to Confirm Online

     

    After it has confirmed, close and re-open the file and it should display the new name on the Command Centre.

      Hi Hayden

       

      Thanks for the reply, but I had already tried that. My Company Name (under settings -> Company Info) has been correct all along, the Company File does not use the same name. Aside from that...I did try changing that Company Name in settings, and confirming it, but it made no difference.

       

      Have you any other suggestions?

        Hi MandMak 

         

        Could you let me know where the Company Name is not displaying correctly? This can help narrow down what to look into.
