    Hey Yuls,

     

    Take a look at Correcting mistakes with STP as I think you will find the information useful. Take particular note of the "My Reporting Categories are set up wrong" drop down tab.

     

    Your next payroll report to the ATO will correct this, or you can do so now by processing a $0 pay run.

Hi Maxine,

 

That's what I did. I had to process Payroll again and not report it to the ATO and now it is posted. Tomorrow is my payrol day so I will check if the problem persists.

 

Now, that I got the attention from someone from MYOB. I want to ask you something, there is a category that I need to be showing in the Payment summary as Rep Empl Super Cont, however this is categorized as Superannuation Guarantee. I have seen other messages with the same problem and MYOB moderators has able people to change the category to Rep Empl Super Cont, can you help me with this?

For your second question, the answer depends on exactly what you are trying to do. I have found this help article that I think may assist you with what you need.

    Hi Maxine,

     

    Yes I know I can do this when preparing payment summaries, however this is not showing as such for the new STP, I need to change this category so it can show in the ATO reporting.

     

    How can I change this category from Superannuation Guarantee to Reportable Employer Super

      Good morning Yuls ,

       

      Once you have created a category e.g. Superannuation (payroll>payroll categories), you are not able to change its contribution type.

       

      So what you will need to do is

      1. Create a new category and call it something new so you can recognise it easily e.g. Superannuation2 (make sure this is not under superannuation guarantee contribution type).

      2. Move the new category over by doing a $0 pay run.

      3. Make sure you adjust the numbers accordingly so that the net amount equals $0. (to move the amount across whatever you normally enter in (ie + or - ), you put in the reverse against the old category and the right way round against the new category).

       

      The most important thing is making sure that the contribution type is NOT set as 'Superannuation Guarantee (Expense)' when you first create the new category, as this will limit the ATO reporting category to Superannuation Guarantee only. I have included a photo below for reference.
