Hi,
We would love to see that the bank feeds be able to split payments between different creditors. At the moment, we have been told that the only way a bulk payment can be split between different creditors is to hide the transaction from the bank feed and then manually apply the payments and manually reconcile the bank. This seems to contradict the point of bank feeds. I am sure we are not the only ones who would need a payment to be split.
This would be great if someone could look at implementing asap.
- Matthew_WMYOB StaffStatus changed:NewtoNewThank you for your feedback, I can appreciate your position, the point in Bank Feeds is to help with reconciliations for transactions that match the data that has been entered into your file, the option to make the bank information and the information in your file more different has not been included for this reason. That being said we're always happy to consider changes and it would be great to see the demand for this through community votes.

Yeah, I struggle to get a bank feed transaction that is a payment across multiple invoice to get picked up. In fact I can't get to to recognise it. So I end up with an invoice overdue, even though the customer isn't actually overdue, as the payment has had to contributed to a later invoice.

I agree - we need this for customer receipts as well - it's a biggie :)

We did a banking that was made up of a number of smaller payments from clients. The total came into the bank feed but when I went to "find" it shows the three transactions involved but doesn't allow me to "tick" all three, I can only select one and of course it then doesn't total the amount of the banking so doesn't work.
Can you put some tick boxes in there so you can select the ones that are appropriate and match either the receipt or the payment.
Cheers
- Matthew_WMYOB StaffStatus changed:NewtoNewThank you for your feedback on how the BankFeeds selection system works and we're certainly happy to consider making changes to it.. We do have this process which we suggest that you use which does solve the issue you're having with the current system: http://myobaustralia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/34816/#11

I love this idea - it would be so much simpler than the current 'bank deposit' method

Currently we are unable to link one bank transaction to multiple transactions in account right and we need this ability.
I.e. for example one incoming capital transaction relates to multiple journals in account right.
MYOB response was as below:
The Bank Feeds in AccountRight Live have a 1 to 1 relationship with the transactions it matches too. This means that one transaction entered into AccountRight can only be matched to one Bank Feed. Conversely, one Bank Feed can only be matched to one transaction.
This means you would need to create a separate transaction for each of the deposits.

Hi there Kelly81 The clearing accounts of undeposited funds and electronic clearing are there to group transactions together to become the one amount to match to the bank feed.
If a client doesn't use/need the electronic feature for the bank, then I create another account called clearing withdrawals and get them to clear through this account - allowing transactions to have their correct date.

Hello Kelly,
You can set up a rule for the anticipated account that the charges are to be allocated to.
To do this when setting up a rule select the Show Advanced Options. Then setup for the accounts. As the amount varies each time you will need to setup zero amounts with the last account showing remainder.
You will the approve the transaction, and then click on the little blue arrow to open it so that you can allocate the transaction to the correct accounts.
I hope this helps.

I would like to see the option of being able to allocate 2 or more transactions in Bank Feeds. Same would apply for Deposits or Spend Money.
For instance in Spend Money, I pay our credit card off monthly with a cheque and some of that will include 4 or 5 "bills". I make a "bill" payment for each bill and allocate it to the same cheque number for all of them, but then the bank feeds will only allow me to match it to one of those. Is there a way around this to have 1 bank feed transaction allocated to more than one transaction in MYOB?
In sales, it would also be useful as we do all Eftpos transaction straight into our acccount....I know a way around this one would be to put into Undeposited funds then do a banking on Eftpos sales each day....but it would still be a good option to.
Any other thoughts on this?
Thanks
Simon

The issue with allocation of spend money from cheque account to pay bill from a credit card transaction is just that. Technically the bill has been paid already. The goods are yours from the time you swipe the card or transmit the information. You now owe Visa or MasterCard. I would be using the credit card as a separate account and using spend or transfer money from the cheque account to pay off this account Bank feeds will then match as they should

Hi!
I put through payments with BNZ as a batch payment (comes through on statement as one transaction)
Problem is that there is no way to split this payment between numerous suppliers.
There is a split function, but this only works when recieving payments.
Thanks!

Hello,
Are you using the Prepare Electronic Payment function?
If not this should resolve the problem.
Have a look at this MYOB Support Note for details.

I have had the exact same problem. Once you go to put thru a batch payment a week or so later MYOB will not let you enter a previous date. I had to manually check this when I reconciled the bank statement, and then Hide Transaction from bank feed.
What I would like to see changed is the ability to put thru a batch payment with the actual date that it was processed, not the current date.

Hi,
I can see in Bank Feeds Bank Statement section deposited amount, but sometimes this deposit is completed from more than one EFTPOS transaction.
We get per day from 5 to 10 transactions via EFTPOS terminal. When I enter "Find" I can see these transactions, but I can't match because system allow to march only with exact amount. For example:
In Bank Feeds
Bank Statement - $200 deposit (came via EFTPOS terminal and completed from 2 different client payments)
Your Transactions - when I press "Find" - I can see 2 payments, in this case -$36 & $164, these 2 payments are = $200, but I can't match because system do not allow.
Can you please upgrade programme to allow marching not only exact deposited amounts like $200 with only $200 but with few different payments to get deposited amount in this case: $200 has to match (on the left screen side) with $36+$164 (on the right screen side).
Hope is clear.
Best Regards,
Aurelija

I have a client who receives through their EFTPOS machine, payment for various clients invoices, as well as small amounts of funds for parts etc.
Currently in MYOB the only way these can be reconciled is by creating a clearing account, matching the bank statement line to this account, and paying off the invoices / creating receive money through the same clearing account.
There should be a way in which we can allocate part of the bank statement line to multiple invoices, as well as receive money transactions. I am aware that other softwares have this function at the moment and think it would be beneficial for MYOB to also have this, as I am sure my client isn't the only one with this issue.
Thankyou!

Hello Bec,
Reconciling your bank account this way is the hard way to do it.
It is much easier, and more accurate to use the Prepare Bank Deposit function in the software.
in this way you can correctly allocate EFTPOS/ Card receipts to the daily amount showing in the bank statements, and to prepare the cash/cheques deposits.
the process is described in theis MYOB Support Note.
http://myobaustralia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9080/kw/9080
One tip that is not in this support note is to set the default for the Undeposited Funds Account. go to Setup / Preferences / Banking and tick the option "When I receive money, I prefer to group it with Other Undeposited Funds."
Also see this website.
http://help.myob.com/wiki/display/ar/Preparing+a+bank+deposit
I hope this is of assistance.

I agree - I think it has been posted as a problem - but not as an idea. I agree - we need the ability back to match multiple transactions to 1 transaction - Live accounts does this - why not Live? You are now forced to use undeposited funds - might seem easy in computer terms - but not practible in all cases.
- Matthew_WMYOB StaffStatus changed:NewtoOpenThanks for the feedback on the Bank Feeds, Geoff. It would be great to get some feedback on this suggestion with votes and comments from other users too.
- GDKSuper Partner
I agree with both comments. Bank feeds reduce amount of the time to enter transactions so this change would make bank feeds more flexible
