I am contacting you to ask for a change in the next update to AccountRight,
Is it possible that when the red cross on top right of screen is clicked on to exit program that it will then ask if you want to exit program instead of just shutting down.
It is frustrating when accidently clicked.
Thank you for your attention
Regards
Barry Kidd.

I find that very annoying too, Barry.

Yes would be helpful when you have the Intray open and maximised and you choose the wrong X button

I believe someone has alreay posted this idea - MYOB, can you find/mark as duplicate. Thanks

When you have multiple windows open on your computer screen, it is very easy to accidently click on the MYOB exit button when you are trying to quit an application.
Can we have an escape option if we do accidently click on the exit button in the menu bar, since it takes so long to log-out then log back in again when you are Online? It is so frustrating that if you click on the exit button, there is no second chance. This is especially true of the Business Insights screen where the only way back to AccountRight is via the Esc key. Click the exit button and you quit both Business Insights and MYOB.

If this duplicates a "great idea" previously suggested more than a year ago, why no action to date?

Hi Jackwaj
As much as they would like to, unfortunately our development team cannot always implement every idea promptly. One of the reasons that we use the Idea Exchange is to help prioritise their work. We really appreciate all the feedback as it helps the team prepare the product roadmap and add new functionality that would have the biggest impact on making business life easier for clients.
All the best,

If you accidentally hit the red corned cross (shut down) on the screen in the old MYOB, it used to give you a back up option and if you hit cancel backup then you would go back to the program and carry on.
With the new one there is no option to change it f you accidentally click this shut down button instead of minimising, it just takes you right out and you have to go through the start up process again
I suggest it would be a good idea to have a message to say "are you sure you want to shut down" prior to it closing.

On a number of occasions I have accidently clicked on the X that will close MYOB. There is no opportunity to cancel this or save invoices, time billing activity slips etc.
The most frustrating part of this is if I am using Time Billing and I have an activity slip working in the back ground, when MYOB closes it does prompt you to finalise this before closing. I than have to remember the time I started the activity and when you are stopping and starting acitivity slips i can be a challenge to remember.

Apart from MYOB consulting, I also do weekend door-to-door interviews for a national opinion poll. When completing their online timesheet, I'm prompted:
- Click Yes to finish & upload, then
- Have you finished & are you ready to upload - Y/N ? then
- Are you really sure ? Y/N
Only then, is the timesheet uploaded - nice and safe !

I also have this problem when viewing the invoice that I have linked from the intry. I accidently press the x at the top when I just want to close the invoice view. So frustrating. I have just started opening my version of the pdf on our hard drive to safe gaurd myself from shuting down the whole myob while in the middle of a transaction.

Could we get an "are you sure" box when closing down file. I sometimes click the close cross by accident and used to be able to say yes to backup and then cancel that and you would stay in the file, but now cancelling backup just closes the file down.

On your next update, can you please have a "Confirm before Exiting" option as many times I have accidently closed MYOB and have no way of stopping the process. At least with the confirm option I can cancel my accidental click :-)

Hey just wondering if it's possible to add an option for MYOB Account Right to offer a pop up warning before shutting down?
Sometimes it's easy to accidentally shut down MYOB (while actually trying to shut other open windows. So maybe a "check box" type option to allow for the "Shutting down MYOB" warning pop up to appear?
Cheers,

MYOB has to be the only program that never asks this question.
And strangely enough, i think it may be needed.
With so many programs online now, and having multiple program screens open at any one time over multiple video screens, i find myself, regularly, accidently, closing MYOB via the top right hand ''X" in error.
As it never comes up with the question, ''Are you sure you want to close MYOB"'.
This one question would save me closing MYOB, in error, usually in the middle of transaction that was put on hold, for whatever reason. And it surely can't be doing the program any good either.
for your consideration,
Thanks
D

Can you be prompted with a pop up message that says...
" Do you really want to close MYOB"
YES NO
....when you click on the X at the top right of screen.
I would like a dollar for everytime I have had several windowss open in MYOB ....and click to close 1....but by mistake I click on the wrong X and it closess the whole program and I have to log on again.

Try setting your preferences> security to Prompt for Backup before closing or Prompt for Session Report. When you hit the wrong X you will get the prompt. Intuitively you go No but this will push you out - go Yes then cancel in the next screen and keep on working.

If Live Accounts is the same as its desk bound family the fix for this is to press yes then Cancel at the next screen.
