Report: General ledger details - Gross amount (Amount including Tax)
The General Ledger report within MYOB Essentials (and all other MYOB software packages) should have a Gross column. This is especially frustrating for clients who have recently moved from BankLink and are accustomed to this feature in their reports. I know that this will have been suggested many times by customers. Other software providers such as Reckon and Xero integrate this feature, so this is something that MYOB should be on board with. The new sales quote format is a big backwards step, it needs to be improved asap to at least match the previous version which was far more flexible and modular, particularly when putting together a quote with multiple stages and line items. I found this below post back from March 2021. Has it been reselved yet? Can we generate a Pay Now link from an Order (even if we had to log in to MYOB online, instead of from our Accountright where we do everything)? This would be a good workaround for now, to the fact that the Pay Now button cannot be sent via email if emailing an order or quote, only once the job is converted to an invoice. We are currently not able to accept MYOB payments for quote or order deposits/payments, meaning we need to have various methods of payment instead of keeping in the one system. MYOB you are also losing out on your fees this way. Surely, this is common practice for companies to have quotes in their system, that then are converted to orders once they are given the go ahead, and the ORDER is in production, then they are converted to invoices once the order is complete and the goods are being dispatched. We cannot change to invoices just to be able to send a payment button in email, or we will have heaps of jobs sitting as invoices (closed off jobs), and not open orders, we wouldn't know what jobs are still in progress, and don't think we should have to bring in another program to monitor this, we use MYOB the way we thought it was meant to be utulitised to it's full capacity (even using the MYOB Create PO button would not work to create all the purchase orders in Suppliers for all the stock if it was an invoice, this only works as an Order). This is a massive design flaw, and needs to be sorted. I spoke on the phone with MYOB a couple of months ago and was told the Pay Now button simply won't appear on Orders or Quotes, it will need to be invoiced. This is not a solution. If more of us speak up, maybe they will push to solve this quicker. Hi there At the moment MyobLive doesn't seem to have much automated functionalityfor BAS. Given that the system already calcuates the BAS it seems really odd that the user has to manually create a spend journal or a reversal to allocate GST Paid, Collected, PAYG instalment etc, and also fill in the ATO forms. Why isn't the email field simple selectable and editable text? When I start typing a new email address in this field, if I click off the field it puts whatever text I have entered even if it is incomeplete into a non-selectable and non-editable format. This is quite annoying if I need to alt-tab to another window to refer to the email address mid typing. To change it I need to remove the text and start again. When I start typing a new email address in this field, if I backspace it out and press backspace one too many times an entire email address is deleted and this can be catastrophic as in many cases I need to search through months of emails to find the correct ones again. Client suggestion I have another suggestion that has caused us a few hiccups. When you send an invoice via email you have no way of knowing if it got to them. I guess what I mean is, if the email address has been entered imperfectly then there is no "Mail Delivery Error" or similar to let you know. And as most clients dont reply saying they've received an invoice, you just assume they have until they havent paid, and you resend and same happens. We have had 3 instances now, one a typo on my part, another someone texted their email address incorrectly (so my several times rechecking didnt help), and another went to someone's old address that they have an autoreply on but we didnt receive it. I'm sure it's unlucky we've had so many, but I imagine it must happen to others occassionally as well. I wonder if you could add it to the "feedback" list? If a business has many small expenses that are too numerous to add each one manually and then allocate a bank payment to that invoice or receipt, it'd be fantastic to be able to upload the receipt while allocating the transactions on the bank feed page. I know we can upload these receipts in another way, but doing it while on the actual bank feeds/transactions page would make it so easy and streamlined, saving heaps of time going back and forth and checking that it's correct, in the right place, right name, right amount. I've attached a screenshot of a transaction on the bank feeds page with a new link shown as "upload". Selecting that would present a way to upload the receipt. Part of the process would have to be to allocate to an expense account (or capital expenditure) and of course the system would have to do all the right things with it at the back end. The user may have to check that GST calcs are correct as is the total but this could be shown on the screen and the user just needs to ok it. It would be great to be able to access/update customer details directly from the "Invoice" screen on MYOB Essentials. Currently if you want to check that you have the correct email or contact person you are invoicing, you have to close the invoice, search and edit contact details if necessary and then once you've saved the updated details, search and open the invoice again before you can send it. This seems to be tediously time consuming! A direct link to "contact" from the invoice screen and then a "save & return to invoice" option on the contact screen would save heaps of time. I'd like the ability to take a photo of receipts and then attach them to the transaction in the banking screen. This will make it really easy for businesses to keep their records and also will help bookkeepers and accountants when working on their client's file. I've got a few clients who would really benefit from this as they are constantly travelling and loosing the actual receipts. It will also save the accountants asking for copies of invoices if they are already attached to the transaction. Hello I have noticed I have made several double up entries of incoming payments to our business. They are still sitting in reconcilliation page. Am I able to just delete these entries? Also, there are entries that I do not think I have made on the dates they are against, are these carry overs from earlier, and can I just delete these as well. You should have a feature in Essentialsfor when a customer overpays, the additional amount can be applied to their next invoice easily. At present there is no function to process an overpayment except to change the invoice amount temporarily so that the payment can be allocated, then you have to change the invoice back to the original amount. It would be handy to have a facilty that stores the amount of credit owing to a customer and asks if you want to apply it when the next invoice is generated. When I went to Reports to get our customer list, I was surprised that the list was not ordered alphabetically. I'm surprised that I even have to post it as a subject, because it is such an obvious thing that lists must be arranged alphabetically or in some other workable order to be useful. What is the point of having a randomly mixed list of customers? It's impossible to find a name there quickly, which is why you need one. So, MYOB developers can you please make changes so that the customer or supplier lists are generated an alphabetical order. The contacts are indeed listed alphabetically when you reach them through View Contacts, however when one needs to have them printed out, the list in Reports is generated in a random fashion.
