MYOB is forcing clients to change to software, which makes it harder to do the work required. I will list a few items that affect my clients. NO WARNING OF DUPLICATE INVOICE DEBTORS OR CREDITORS. CAN NOT TAKE DEPOSITS ON SALES ORDERS NO BANK DEPOSIT THE SCREEN DOES NOT SHOW ALL THE INFORMATION, NO MATTER HOW LARGE YOUR MONITOR IS. NOT ABLE TO DO A REFUND FOR A CUSTOM AS ELECTRONIC PAYMENT. YOU NEED TO REFUND THE CREDIT AND THEN GO TO THE BANK AND MANUALLY ENTER THE REFUND INTO PAY ANYBODY. SO OPEN TO ERRORS. WHEN SELECTING SALES TO SHOW INVOICE OF OUTSTANDING BALANCE, IT DOES NOT SHOW IF A CUSTOMER IS IN CREDIT OR IF THEY HAVE A CREDIT AND A UNPAID INVOICE. YOU NEED TO GO TO STATUS - CREDIT - IN PROGRESS. SALES ORDERS REMAIN ONCE THEY HAVE BEEN MADE INTO A SALE. 100% OF CUSTOMERS ARE ENTERED AS A SALES ORDER WITH A DEPOSIT. WHEN POSSIBLE MATCH COMES UP IN BANK TRANSACTIONS. YOU CLICK ON MATCH TRANSACTION, AND ALL TRANSACTIONS COME UP. WHY IS IT NOT GOING TO THE POSSIBLE MATCH SUPPLIER/CUSTOMER? WHEN PAYING A SUPPLIER, IT DOES NOT TELL YOU THAT THEY HAVE A UNALLOCED CREDIT. NOT ABLE TO COMBINE DUPLICATE CARDS OR ACCOUNT NUMBERS. RECURRING INVOICES DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY EMAIL ON THE DUE DATE. I COULD GO ON, BUT I HAVE TO TRY AND WORK AROUND ALL THE MESS TO GET A CORRECT SET OF BOOKS. The following are key issues with the new system that the old one never had... With bank transactions: - Uploading receipts to tray used to always regester, now half of them can't be read and remain under processing. - When trying to add a receipt to a bank transaction, you used to be able to just drop an attachment in, now you can only browse through your files for one or get one out of your tray. - When trying to retrieve a receipt from tray it used to display them with receipts that match the same figure first, then the remaining following. Now it doesn't display matching first, and displays in date order, so you have to search down through all your receipts to find the one that matches the figure. - Previously when inputing an account for a transaction, you would start typing one - like "vehicle" and all of your vehicle listings would show up in the drop down box to quickly ckick on the one you want, or you could just type in "expense" and scroll through about 8 different options at a time. Now the drop down box only displays one option for selection, so unless you type the full description in correctly it won't pop it up, and to search for it you struggle scrolling through with only one displayed option at a time. For invoicing: - The description box is way too narrow for typing in (with large font), with unnecessarily wide account and amount boxes. So when describing services undertaken it is hard to type in and list items, with only 6 words or so displaying per line. - When emailing invoices the system is extremely slow, and takes ages to send the emails and even longer to regester and show that an invoice was actually sent. Where as previously it was done and displayed instantly. - The old system used to pull off all my contacts 'first names' accurately for inputting into an automated invoice email. But when all my contacts transferred to the new system it didn't register names properly, and now each invoice email is most often selecting no first name for sending, or is picking up their entire name, or a random other selection. Where as the old system would always automatically insert the clients first name into the email with no problem. Overall, the system is much slower and has lots of added unnecessary boxes and selections that aren't needed and never used. Where as the essentially ones needing to be used are hidden small among lots of other junk. The system needs to run faster, with primary input boxes taking up primary space, and non essential additions to the side or in drop boxes. I am reposting this idea from 2017 which has not been implemented, (Link below). Idea: Need to be able to view quotes online as you can with invoices. Must have an Accept or Decline button at the top of the quote. On Accept of the quote, it must auto-create an invoice. Workflow for an Accepted quote: Customer views quote online just like invoicing > customer accepts the quote online > business gets an email notification of the accepted quote with a link to the original in MYOB > quote automatically turns into an invoice in MYOB under the customer's details > customer automatically gets an email notification of the new invoice > customer pays the new invoice. Without this feature, you MUST: Get in touch with the customer or they get in touch with you, to discuss accepting the quote. Go into their quote. Then manually change the status to Accepted. Then click the Convert to Invoice button. Then you must click the accept button on the pop-up. Then you must click email invoice. Then you must click send invoice from the email invoice pop-up. OMG! Hello Three system glitches that need fixing, and I dont know how they haven't been already!! Have been an issue for years. Using the web based version of Account right. In Employee set up, you must have hours in pay cycle. These hours then transfer over to the tab "standard pay". This should not happen unless you enter it manually as currently it then adds itself into the pay run and the employee shows up as working twice the amount of hours, if you are running on timesheets to calculate the hours. EXAMPLE: I gave my employee a payrise. For some reason, under the Standard Pay tab, in wages - base hours, 38 has automatically been placed there. My employee does a timesheet every week on which he gets paid those hours. When I start a new pay run, instead of the 30hours worked it is showing 68 hours because of this strange automatic adding of a "standard pay". PLEASE REMOVE THIS. Next, when you start a pay run, it says "No timesheets for this pay period" even though there is. You have to change the date to tomorrow then back to today in order for the current timesheets to show up for selection. Why is it like this? Please fix. Next, when entering bills the automatic fill in will pick up the business the bill is for but no other information. I have found if you select a random different business, then go back to selecting the correct business then the autofill will pick up the right information for that business./ All such frustrating tedious things that shouldn't occur in a programe thats been running for this long. It makes MYOB so clunky and finicky to use, no wonder so many are giving up on it. Please fix what needs to be fixed instead of updating the look of the dashboard every 6 months. Hi Team, The ability to attach supporting documents to a General Journal or Receive money transaction is long overdue. I have the situation where I like to attach the payment slip for our BAS to the payment that we make each time we lodge a BAS however this quarter the BAS results in a refund. I cannot enter this transaction as a minus payment and when I create a Spend money transaction, I cannot attach a copy of the BAS for later reference. Hey there I think it would be great to be able to add the contact person's name to an email template. {{contact_name}} or similar? As someone who teaches children, my customer names are all of the people I teach, and I put their parent or caregiver's name as the contact person. If the emails are being sent to the contact person's email address, why wouldn't you be able to address them in the email. Rather than, "Hi, Little John. Here is your invoice for your fees....." (Little Johnny is 5 years old and doesn't get the email.). It should instead be "Hi, Little Johnny's parent or caregiver. Here is the invoice for Little Johnny's fees.....". I know I can change the customer's name to the parent's name, but when I'm invoicing and going down my role of a couple of hundred students, the last thing I want to do is try and remember the parent or caregiver's name or surname (which is often different from the child's). MYOB Could we please get payroll fixed so that when you edit the employee's card and change their pay rate, you are asked if you want their Standard pay updated BEFORE it makes any changes? For example, when you have casual employees that do not have a Standard Pay you have to remember to reduce their standard pay back to $0 every time you update their record. I run in high resolution (3840x2160) and find it rather annoying that MYOB is trying to fit everything into a narrow width (looks like it is probebly 1024 pixels wide) it would be much nicer if it scaled to the screen width. Is there a way to make MYOB use the full width of the screen? See attachment for example where it is really obviuos. This is a nice feature where MYOB opens the file in split screen so you can refer to it and transfer into into MYOB but since it only uses less than 1/3rd of my screen width I cant read it, making it useless. I end up closing the nice split panel feature in myob, putting myob on half my screen (so it at least uses 70% of that) and opening the pdf in a second window sat next to myob window so I can actually see them both. We have limited abilities to customise the invoice template. What we require is for the footer section to be editable. The only options we have are customising the Header Style and Header Information. ~ A screenshot mockup is attached for reference. Options we require in the footer are: Have the footer editable to add/remove widgets or boxes. Have these editable in the master template. Have the option to edit individual invoices for deeper customisation. (For some clients we do not want to give bank details and only give them card options). The screenshot attached - sections numbered I have added a mockup design for a Footer section dropdown. Named each box in the footer as Widgets 1, 2, and 3 for reference purposes. Widgets 1,2,3 are set to Add as default. (Because MYOB already has them there). However, when you select No it will remove the widget. Eg: Select No on BPAY and it will remove the BYAY box widget. Set to No as default, but have the option to add an additional comment box by selecting Yes. The notes section is good, but as web developers, we have additional final invoice terms on our invoices. Placing this information in the Notes section will make the invoice look cluttered, so if we had an option to place text at the footer > full width in a smaller font (say 10px), would be handy. Only visible once the Comment box Yes is selected. It conditionally opens up the Comment box placement option. We feel that deeper template customisation is required as all our clients have different needs. When you match a transaction to an invoice it always used to say on the bank feed what invoice number the transaction was allocated to, now however, in the new system, it gives it a random CR code number which you have to click on and a pop up window comes out which then tells you which invoice this has been allocated to. We use the In Tray copiously and match transactions to payments wherever possible. Usually this is to transactions that have come in from the bank. Bank transactions view Ideas: I'd love to see an indicator beside a bank line where there's a suggested match from the In Tray. This suggested match could be based on the date and value extracted from the file. Similar to old Essentials. If certainty is 98%+ I'd like those attachments to be attached without user input. Clicking the suggestion icon could immediately link the attachment to this transaction. Bank lines with attachments have an icon already. Clicking this icon could open a modal preview of the attachment, its OCR details, and a button to immediately "un-link" the attachment(s). Effectively as an un-do for the one-click or automated attachment methods noted above. Areas that could be improved: The "View" link opens a new window with a download prompt. A modal preview or new tab to web-view rather than download would be much faster for us. The In Tray picker is sorted by file upload date, probably the least useful option. It'd be more helpful to sort it with suggested matches at the top, highlighted, then the rest by effective date with those dates that are relevant to the transaction above others. The In Tray picker is a radio button but it needs to be a checkbox allowing multiple selections. When an attachment is linked to a bank line, it can only be downloaded or unlinked. A View option in a modal or new window would be preferable. In Tray view: If suggested matches are re-implemented, the apparently matching bank line(showing date, value, and a truncated description; when clicked show full details in a tooltip) could be added under the relevant file row, with a button to immediately Attach the item and remove it from the In Tray view. In essence I miss suggested matches! And making it easier to pair evidence with transactions would be very helpful. The update to the bank transactions page is horrible. Please reverse it back to the previous version. The reason's are: - The page used to be so clear to look at - now it's far too busy but at the same time you see half as much. - Now there's a massive header that takes up half the page and means you can only see a limited number of transactions at a time. The header doesn't contain information that is necessary to be shown all of the time, so unfreeze it. - When you're in a transaction, then you can't even see all the options in that transaction and have to scroll up and down on the half page that's it's shown on. - When you are trying to allocate a transaction and want to scroll for a code you can only see one or two code options at a time - I want to be able to see at least 10 so I know what category I'm in and the other options either side. - I also hate the bold of the transactions that are not yet coded - it makes the page look far too busy. I am considering moving to a different accounting platform because all your updates have been that s**t. I don't think I have found a good change yet. The business's GST Number shows on its invoices as an unformatted 9-digit number under the business address. This is inadequate because it is not obvious what these digits are.
